Bristol Police: Arrests for domestic offenses and breaking-and-entering

Bristol police officers. made a handful of arrests from Jan. 25 to 31, as seen in the police incident log.

Monday, Jan. 25

A resident on Easterbrooks Avenue reported the theft of trash/recycling bins.

A Hope Street resident reported a clock stolen from their residence.

Tuesday, Jan. 26

Residents on Fales Road and Collins Street each reported unemployment fraud.

Bristol Police charged Jairson A. Ascencao, 21, of Johnston with breaking-and-entering with felonious intent after he was taken into custody by Johnston Police.

Wednesday, Jan. 27

A resident on Melrose Drive filed a noise complaint about a loud bass guitar at 12:17 a.m.

A resident on Roosevelt Drive reported a large coyote in the area at 8:59 a.m.

A Metacom Avenue resident reported damage to their mailbox from a plow.

A parent from Wayland Road called police at 8:06 p.m. to report that her juvenile son had left the house past curfew. A patrolman located the youth and brought him back home.

Officers responded to a loud party on Magnolia Street at 11:25 p.m. They advised Roger Williams University public safety of the situation.

Thursday, Jan. 28

An officer dispersed a vehicle with two occupants from the corner of Hope Street and Donna Court at 12:02 a.m.

An officer advised a Hope Street resident to turn down the music after police received a noise complaint at 1:02 a.m.

Friday, Jan. 29

Officers were called to a Hopeworth Avenue residence for a domestic disturbance at 12:01 a.m. Officers took a report but there were no arrests.

Thomas F. Shaugnessy, 40, of Fall River, was charged on a warrant for two counts of violating a domestic protective order.

A Howe Street resident called police to turn in an air-soft rifle at 12:08 p.m.

A resident of Kingswood Drive called police at 10:50 p.m. to complain about loud music, specifically bass guitar, from a nearby residence. She said it is a frequent problem.

Saturday, Jan. 30

A resident from Roma Street called police at 1:38 a.m. to report that she had no heat in her apartment and the landlord was not fixing the issue. She wanted police to document the situation.

Police documented damage to shrubs and on tire tracks on the lawn of a Hopeworth Avenue residence at 8:38 a.m. There was also damage found on the base of a utility pole.

Someone reported a dog tied up outside along Wood Street at 10:47 a.m. It was gone when an officer arrived to check.

A caller from Bradford Street reported she was in an altercation at 8:15 p.m. A patrolman responded and found that the male had left before he arrived.

Sunday, Jan. 31

Officers assisted at the scene of an accident in front of the Roger Williams University campus, where a vehicle had collided with a deer. Rescuers transported one person to Rhode Island Hospital.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Catherine Street at 10:45 a.m.

Antone A. Sousa, 60, of 151 Bradford St., Apt. 1, Bristol, was taken into custody on a warrant and charged with domestic simple assault and refusal to relinquish a telephone.

A Fernwood Road resident complained about a vehicle that had been parked across the street from her residence for three days. An officer checked and it was legally parked.
