Bristol Police: Two arrests for DUI, plus problems between neighbors

Bristol police officers made a handful of arrests, including two for driving under the influence, from May 10 to 17.

Monday, May 10

A sick animal was reported on Dominion Avenue at 2:21 p.m.

Someone complained about the use of a leaf blower running at 8:43 p.m. in the area of Hope Street and North Farm Drive.

Tuesday, May 11

An officer spoke to someone about turning down the music on the car stereo along Wood Street at 1:16 p.m.

Keith A. Barrieault, 45, of Warren, was taken into custody at the intersection of Hope and Franklin streets and charged with two Superior Court warrants for sentencing. He was processed and taken to the ACI.

Vandalism was reported a vehicle on Wall Street at 4:50 p.m.

An officer dispersed people from Lower Ferry Road at 11:41 p.m.

Wednesday, May 12

Marc Thomas DeWolf, 30, of 30 Acacia Road, Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test after being stopped along Richmond Street at 1:06 a.m.

An officer was called to the Season Corner Market on Metacom Avenue at 1:55 p.m. for a reportedly suspicious woman in the parking lot. She was gone when an officer arrived.

An officer responded to a Thompson Avenue residence after a complaint of loud music at 10:33 p.m. It was a group of people watching a sporting event on their TV.

An officer dispersed people from Lower Ferry Road at 11:57 p.m.

Thursday, May 13

Christian T. Ferreira, 23, of 40 Basswood Road, Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence – .15 or greater, after being stopped along Narrows Road at 12:53 a.m.

Chase Gilroy, 26, of Warwick, turned himself in at the station at 7:35 a.m. and was charged with vandalism and conspiracy to commit vandalism. He was processed and taken to District Court for arraignment (see separate story).

Officers responded to Robin Drive at 8:50 a.m. after receiving a report about a woman possibly being assaulted. There was no assault, just a woman upset over a timed exam on the computer.

A sick skunk was euthanized along Bay View Avenue at 5:20 p.m.

Officers took a report about a man yelling at another man along Second Street at 5:46 p.m.

Officers investigated a possible disturbance on Siegel Street at 6:25 p.m. but found nothing amiss.

Someone called to report a child on a scooter at the town skate park without a helmet at 8:16 p.m.

A patrolman spoke to a group of people who were playing games outside along Chilton Street at 10:36 p.m. They agreed to move inside for the night. Officer responded back to Chilton Street at 11 p.m. for the same reminder.

Friday, May 14

Someone called police to say they had been harassed while walking past the Town Common at 12:56 a.m.

Someone complained of people outside making a lot of noise at 1:38 a.m. in the area of Constitution and Wood streets.

An officer spoke with a man after investigating a report of fireworks in the area of Fox Hill Avenue and Richmond Street at 3:17 a.m.

A woman called police to report a strange animal at her doorway along Mulberry Road at 10:12 a.m. The animal control officer determined it was a fox with mange.

A Greenway Drive resident reported larceny.

An officer spoke to roommates who were listening to music loudly in the Magnolia Street apartment after receiving a complaint at 5:03 p.m.

A Fox Hill Avenue resident agreed to turn off loud music after an office paid a visit at 8:24 p.m.

Officers searched for multiple people involved in a verbal argument at 9 p.m. in the roadway along Wilson and St. Elizabeth streets. They were gone when officers arrived.

Someone reported people throwing things in the dumpster outside of Reynolds School at 9:07 p.m.

Saturday, May 15

Officers responded to King Philip Avenue at 2:14 p.m. after a report of a man and woman arguing in the roadway.

Officers responded to Wood Street for a dispute among neighbors, stemming from a TV left on the wrong porch.

Someone complained about a large group of people at Clipper Way and Evelyn Drive at 10:53 p.m.

Someone reported three men possibly carrying a street sign along Wood Street at 11:41 p.m.

Sunday, May 16

An officer called rescue to the area of Mt. Hope Avenue and Siegel Street to assist a man found lying on the side of the road at 2:46 a.m.

A Catherine Street resident complained of harassment at 7:12 a.m.

A Burke Road resident complained of neighbor harassment at 11:01 a.m.

A San Antonio Avenue resident reported a group of juveniles riding up and down the street hanging out the doors of vehicles at 6:42 a.m.

An officer spoke to a Sweeney Lane resident about a barking dog at 6:57 p.m.

Someone reported fireworks along Thompson Avenue at 9:14 p.m.

Monday, May 17

An officer investigated a verbal domestic dispute along Thames Street at 12:30 a.m.

An officer advised residents who were having a small gathering to bring things inside for the night after a report that they were outside with flashlights at 2:55 a.m. on Hawthorne Avenue.
