The Barrington Business Association members would like to welcome retirees, recent college graduates, domestic engineers and business owners to join them on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Pizzico as they celebrate the launch or the association's new website — www.barringtonba.com.

The new website includes information ranging from a directory of local businesses to the organization's board of directors. The site also states that there are 32 restaurants and cafes in town, 421 professional services companies, 38 fine retailers and "1 awesome business organization."

"Our #1 priority is to develop programs which promote and educate the Barrington business community," stated the site.

Elizabeth Tanner, from Commerce RI, will be the special guest speaker at the organization's website launch event. There is no cost to attend.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
