Charles “Lanny” Lance Ledley, passed away peacefully at Trinity Health Care in Woonsocket, RI, on July 15th at the age of 79.

Born July 8th, 1941 and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, he later moved to Warren, RI after his time serving in the U.S Navy.

Charles was the son of the late William and Hazel Ledley (Lance), and is predeceased by his sister Charlotte, and brothers William and Gary Ledley.

Charles is lovingly remembered by his two children Thomas Ledley of Warren, and Susan McGovern, of Attleboro MA, and their mother Judy Cabral; as well as his son-in-law Mick McGovern, Charles’ three grandchildren, Marilyn, Jillian, and Joshua Nestell, and their father John.

He also leaves behind his sister Elizabeth Whiteman, and many other loving family and friends.

Charles enjoyed watching his programs surrounded by his pets.

He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan, and despite living in New England was usually seen sporting something of his home city. He was very proud of his grandchildren and could be seen cheering them on at their games or dance recitals.

A prayer service was held Tuesday July 21 at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Charles’ name may be made to the Warren Animal Shelter, 80 Wood Street, Warren, RI, 02885.
