In Rhode Island, more than 2,000 volunteers are expected to participate in the International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The volunteers will help beautify more than 85 sites, including Barrington Town Beach. The local cleanup will run from 10 a.m. to noon and volunteers are still needed.

Anyone interested in participating should visit volunteer.savebay.org/international-coastal-cleanup/.

Other cleanup sites on Sept. 16 will stretch from Smithfield to Block Island, and cleanups will also be held on alternate dates in September and October.
