Craig S. Nieuwenhuis, 50, of Warren, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Craig was born in Taunton, MA., a son of the late Roger and Dolores ( Perreira) Nieuwenhuis.
He had been a Warren resident since 1995, coming from Florida.
Mr. Nieuwenhuis was being cared for by Riverwood. He previously had worked in the Housekeeping Department at the Newport Naval Base.
Craig loved music, his family, all holidays, especially Christmas, and he also liked going to Newport for shopping and spending time in the shops there.
Craig is survived by his brothers, Glenn Nieuwenhuis of Vernon, Ct. and Scott Nieuwenhuis of Taunton; and his sister, Karen Nieuwenhuis of Carver, Ma. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a special grandniece, Avery.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 8, at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
