Dana A. Kent, 67, Westport

Dana A. Kent, 67, of Westport, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Golden Living Center. He was the son of the late Porter O. and Arline (Cambra) Kent.

Mr. Kent was born in Fall River and had been a longtime resident of Westport. He had worked as and enjoyed reminiscing about his days as a tractor trailer truck driver. He loved motorcycles and spending time with his friends.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Golden Living Center, Asera Care and Community VNA Hospice for the care and support they gave to Mr. Kent.

Survivors include his sister, Brenda L. Peixe and her husband Edward of Westport; and nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late George Kent and Malcolm Cambra.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
