David Lloyd McCoy, 79, of Tiverton, formerly of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the Providence VA Medical Center, Rhode Island. He was the husband of Patricia G. (Rounds) McCoy.
David was born in Owatonna, Minn., son of the late Lloyd F. and Bertha (Dezuettel) McCoy.
Mr. McCoy served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a communications equipment operator at the Newport Navy Base for many years. His memberships include the NRA and he was a 57-year member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino and movies.
Beside his wife of 60 years, he leaves his two sons, Michael D. McCoy of Fall River, Robert K. McCoy and Patricia Pine of Largo, Fla., and his daughter Kathie J. White of Brunswick, Ga. He was the brother of Katharine Norton of Stillwater, Minn., and also leaves eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
David was the father of the late David L. McCoy II.
