David Medeiros, 58, of Freehold Township, N.J., passed away suddenly, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at home. Born and raised in Bristol, R.I., Dave left his beloved hometown to marry the love of his life, Lisa, 35 years ago.

Dave was employed by Monmouth County Hall of Records, Engineering Dept., as a project coordinator for 25 years, or, as he stated “Way too #@!$ing Long!”, prior to his retirement in 2018.

Dave grew up in the tight knit neighborhood of Hopeworth. The neighborhood forged deep ties and lasting relationships that Dave carried with him always. His love of Bristol brought him back time and time again. Dave loved the Bristol Fourth of July, always viewing the festivities as his ultimate birthday celebration.

Dave was a larger than life personality, finding happiness through his many hobbies, interests, and passions. Dave was always eager to share his love of motorcycles and dirt-bike racing. Dave engaged, supported, and encouraged all around him to join and share in his joy of riding. He was an active member of the New England Trails Association, Mid-Atlantic Trails Association, and the Tri-State Trails Riders.

He was a skilled mechanic, always working hard to ensure his son Michael’s bikes were “race ready” and took great pride in his Hare Scramble committee work with the East Coast Enduro Association (ECEA). His daughter, Kacie, hopelessly tried to share her own passions for fashion, but he insisted his oil splattered t-shirts were the best.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lisa (Brower) Medeiros, his daughter and son-in-law, Kacie and Jose Nieto of Freehold, N.J., his son Michael and Liz Capell of Freehold, N.J., his parents, Armenio and Maria Medeiros of Bristol, five siblings, Michael (Lia) Medeiros, Linda (Lincoln) Dwight, Donna (Frank) Raposa, Steven (Becky) Medeiros, Debra (Pat) Barton, brother-in-law, Tom (Lisa) Brower, sister-in-law, Susan (Jim) McDonough, sister-in-law, Cecelia Brower, and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins. Dear friends Tom and John Ratier, Skip Castro, Chris and Marybeth Fletcher, John Holmes, Tony and Sabrina Mini are among many of his friends whom meant everything to him.

Dave “Extreme” will be dearly missed by many.

The family invites all who loved Dave to celebrate his life in Bristol on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at 10 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. A private interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to invite you following the service to bring your happiest Dave stories to The Beach House, 805 Hope St., Bristol. For online condolences, shared memories, information and directions go to www.sansonefuneralhome.com
