Denise M. “DeeDee” Jones-Braz, 48, of Tiverton, died on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Gladys (Jones) Rezendes and the late George Furtado.

She is survived by a son, Cody Braz, and a daughter, Corey Braz.  She also leaves a grandson, Rylen Cash James.  In addition, she is survived by a brother, Christopher Furtado, and a sister ,Cheryl Furtado.  She was the former wife of David Braz.

She had been a landscape designer and floral designer.  Denise was an outgoing people person who enjoyed outdoor activities, arts and crafts and motorcycle riding.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton.  www.almeida-pocasset.com.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
