Dolores (Cabral) Malloy, 86, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on June 29 at Silver Creek Manor. She leaves her beloved husband of 66 years, Joseph (Boy) Malloy.
Born in Bristol on Dec. 8, 1930, to the late Manuel and Sadie (Mello) Cabral, she was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, class of 1948.
Mom loved the beach, Bristol's Fourth of July, feeding and watching the birds and enthusiastically cheering the Patriots and Red Sox. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. She was a long-time volunteer at St. Elizabeth's School library, worked at Child Find and, on election days, as a poll worker.
Dolores was a wonderful mother, devoting herself to her family. She leaves her children, Deborah Malloy (Nancy Vorro), Claudette Almeida (Gilbert), Robert Malloy (Lynne) and Patrick Malloy. She shared special relationships with her eight grandchildren, Gil Almeida (Jaime), Jennie Almeida, Laura Smith (Colin), Gregory Malloy, Bonnie Almeida (Julius Bonner), Dillon, Collin and Ian Malloy, and 3 great grand children, Mason Almeida, Bryce Smith and Austin Sylvia. She leaves three sisters, Lydia Cabral, Raquel Cabral and Louise McNulty (Jack), and was pre-deceased by her brothers, Robert and Raymond (Mary), and sister Martha Cabral.
Calling hours are 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., at St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Bristol.
