Eagles eliminated from boys basketball playoffs

Barrington loses to Wheeler, 59-47

The Barrington High School boys basketball team lost 59-47 to Wheeler on Tuesday night, Feb. 26, and was eliminated from the Division II playoff tournament.

The Eagles, who defeated Tiverton in a preliminary round game, trailed the Warriors 26-19 at halftime of the quarterfinal game.  

Will Rywolt led all scorers with 25 points, including four three-pointers and 5-for-6 shooting at the free throw line. 

Ben Silvia finished with five points, while Connor Sullivan and Ryan Bonneau each scored four. 

The Eagles, who finished the regular season with a 12-6 record, will wait until Sunday night to find out if they were selected to play in the state's open basketball tournament.
