The Barrington High School boys' cross country team picked up three wins on Monday afternoon, Oct. 3. Barrington defeated Wheeler, 24-35, Mt. Hope 17-40, and Moses Brown 15-48. 

Eliot Laidlaw led the charge for the Eagles, finishing the 3.05-mile course at Colt State Park in Bristol in just 17:33. 

Laidlaw was followed closely by teammate George Wicker, who finished third overall with a time of 17:48. Dominic Portelli clocked the fifth-fastest time of the race with a 17:51, while Jamie Gunness finished eighth with a time of 18:04 and Brian Donahue was ninth with a time of 18:16.

Girls sweep

The Barrington High School girls' cross country team also ran very well on Monday, defeating Wheeler 18-44, Mt. Hope 21-38, and Moses Brown 19-44. The race was held at Colt State Park in Bristol.

Barrington runners took two of the top three spots — Caroline Livingston was first overall with a time of 20:00, while Tess Gagliano was third with a time of 20:50.

Stephanie Chun finished sixth overall and third for the Eagles. She finished the course in 21:21. Teá Bishop was eighth overall with a time of 21:35 and Meg Zitzmann was ninth with a time of 21:36.
