Barrington High School now holds the boys and girls meet and facility records in the weight throw relay.
The team of Adam Kelly, Mike Alvernaz and Bobby Colantonio captured the meet and facility record for the boys back in Dec. 2014, while the team of Annika Kelly, Sydney Polando and Faith Polando set new meet and facility records for the girls on Dec. 28, 2017.
Competing at the 9th annual Rhode Island Classic, Kelly and the Polando sisters won first place with a combined distance of 142 feet, 4.5 inches in the girls weight throw relay.
In the process, Kelly also set a new Barrington High School record in the shot put, with a distance of 32 feet, 8 inches. The prior record of 32 feet, .75 inches had been set by her teammate Faith Polando last January.
The Barrington High School boys finished in eighth place in the boys weight throw relay.
