PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School boys' indoor track and field team concluded its Metropolitan Division dual meet schedule with a decisive 91-8 victory over the Wheeler School and a 72-33 setback to Central Wednesday night, Jan. 20, at the Providence Career and Tech Academy Field House.
The Townies finished their slate with a 5-3 record. Central wound up in a share of second at 6-2. Wheeler went 2-6. Classical won the division dual meet title with a perfect 8-0 mark.
Event winners for East Providence Wednesday included: Alex Gorman 4:19.37, 1500 meters; Elliot Charron 10:59.61, 3000 meters; Paulo Pereira 8.32, 55-meter high hurdles and Pereira, 19 feet, 10.25 inches, long jump.
The Townies and their Metro counterparts return to the PCTA Field House on February 3 for the division championship meet.
