Townies beat Mt. Hope, lose to Barrington

EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School golf team split a pair of Eastern Division matches against Mt. Hope and Barrington at Wannamoisett Country Club Thursday afternoon, May 5.

The Townies finished a 223 total, good enough to defeat the Huskies (260) but well behind the Eagles (164).

East Providence saw its record move to 3-4 in Eastern standings. Mt. Hope remained winless at 0-4 while Barrington continued to set the pace atop the division with a perfect 7-0 record.

Tommy Murray was the day's medalist leading the Eagles with a 5-over par score of 39. Jake Pezza shot a 51 to lead the Townies.
