EAST PROVIDENCE — Step two in the process of rehabilitating the East Providence High School tennis courts commenced Wednesday, Aug. 12, as John Carnevale led a host of volunteers laying down a couple coats of "Townie Red" paint on the surface.
Mr. Carnevale is leading the effort through his D'amours Step organization in association with the East Providence School Department.
Another coat of paint will follow in the coming days as will new lines and fresh graphics. The hope is the courts will have cured for the start of the girls' tennis team preseason practice in some 10 days time.
The initial phase of project saw Mr. Carnevale and volunteers paint the rusted perimeter fencing around the courts then remove debris from and seal cracks in the surface.
