EAST PROVIDENCE — The city’s Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity office celebrated Native American Heritage Month plans a celebration on Wednesday night, Nov. 20, with a host of activities and performances from area indigenous peoples.
Council president Bobby Britto represented the city during the evening. Speakers included Sachem Harry “The Hawk” Edmonds, of the Pokanoket Nation and Chief Tracey Brown, of the Pokanoket Nation. The Heartbeat of Pokanoket Nation, Carole “Little Meadow” Brown and Patricia “Gentle Rain” Booker performed ceremonies.
