Carissa Chatlien was ordered by a District Court judge to be held in the Adult Correctional Institution for her involvement in a stabbing incident in Woonsocket.

According to a report in the Woonsocket Call, Ms. Chatlien, 32 and of East Providence, was arraigned on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, a kitchen knife and conspiracy Thursday, June 9. The judge set bail on the charge, but Chatlien was unable to post the required amount and was remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions.

It is alleged, Ms. Chatlien stabbed another woman in the stomach at an apartment on West School Street on Wednesday, June 8, according to Woonsocket Police Detective Sgt. Matthew Ryan.

The report continued, the victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the detective said. She was admitted to the hospital after the stabbing and was listed in stable condition. The alleged incident took place after an argument over a housecleaning chore.

Sgt. Ryan said neither the victim nor Ms. Chatlien live in the apartment where the stabbing allegedly took place, although the victim stored some belongings there and spent the night from time to time. The police did not release the address.
