Edward J. Gagne Jr., 86, of Warren, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rhode Island. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Fuller) Gagne, to whom he had been married for the past 65 years.

Born in Warren, a son of the late Edward J. Gagne Sr. and Eva M. (Aubin) Gagne, he had been a lifelong resident of Warren. He was the owner and operator of Ed's Saw and Mower Service for 20 years before retiring in 2005.  He also owned and operated Warren Furniture Manufacturing and worked at Blount Seafood and as a finish carpenter for Herreshoff Boats.

An active communicant of St. Jean the Baptiste Church, he was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a former Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Hickey Council in Riverside. An avid bowler, he belonged to the Warren Indian Band and enjoyed square dancing and homing pigeon racing. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Edward J. Gagne III of Covington, OH; one daughter, Donna Gagne and her partner Susan Bissell of Coventry, RI; one sister, Jeanne Cirillo of Tarpon Springs, FL and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 9 a.m. from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main St., Warren.  Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial follows in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery.
