Edwin 'Hank' Griffin, 82, of Barrington

Edwin "Hank" Griffin, 82, of Barrington, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. Hank was born to Edwin Griffin Sr. and Rosanne (Gore) Griffin on Sept. 23, 1935 in Hanover, NH. He was the loving husband of Joyce (Krekich) Griffin for over half a century. He was a graduate of Vermont Academy, received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire, and his masters degree from Lehigh University. He had a long career as a research chemist for Texas Instruments.

Hank had many interests and enjoyed many activities including competitive sailboat racing, contract bridge, long walks on the beach with his dogs, reading, traveling, and was an avid fan of the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox.

Hank treasured his family above all. In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by his daughters Linda Coppola (husband Glenn), Deb Kney (husband Brad), Kelly Crawford (husband Steve), and his son Ed Griffin (wife Debbie); grandchildren Lauren Geraghty, Tara McManus (husband Ryan), Stevie Crawford, Christopher Crawford, and Elizabeth Crawford and one great-grandson Griffin McManus. He is also survived by a brother Arthur of Mesa, Ariz.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Church, Washington Road, Barrington, RI on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. Please visit smithmason.com for online condolences.
