The 2018 RIBCA Awards Banquet was held Tuesday night, June 26, at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, and the Barrington High School baseball team was well represented.

Eight Eagles were recognized for their academic and athletic excellence by fellow coaches in the Division II Central Region, including Cabot Maher, who was named the Regional Player of the Year.

Barrington High School's Andy Marra won Golden Glove Award and was also named Academic All-State first team, while Andrew Conaty won the Cy Young Award.

Matt Zeleznik, Michael Pfeffer and Josh Leadem were selected first team All-Division, and George Connelly and Matt Macaluso were selected second team All-Division.

Conaty, Maher, Pfeffer and Zeleznik were also listed as "Academic Achievement Recipients" as these student-athletes maintained a GPA of 3.25 or higher.

The Barrington High School baseball team enjoyed one of its best seasons in years — the Eagles built a record of 16-6 overall and earned a spot on the Division II playoffs.
