Evelyn Ferreira, 91, formerly of Tiverton

Evelyn (Costa) Ferreira, 91, of Fall River and formerly of Tiverton, passed away on Feb. 4, 2018.  She was the widow of Frank Monte Ferreira.  Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Jesse (Rego) Costa and Antone N. Costa. 

Prior to her retirement, she had worked in the Dept. of Education for the State of RI as a school lunch lady.  Evelyn enjoyed sewing, gardening, bowling, golfing, bingo and was an avid Red Sox fan.  She was a Columbiette for the Tiverton Branch Knights of Columbus and a member of the Catholic Women's Society.  Most of all, she was a kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Paul F. Ferreira and Thomas M. Ferreira (partner Sandra Prophet), along with her grandchildren, Ellen E. Ferreira, Brent P. Ferreira (wife Brandie), Richard E. Ferreira and Casandra L. Ferreira.  Great grandchildren are Briyonna and Janessa Ferreira.  She is survived by a sister, Eileen Nichols and several nieces and nephews in California.  She was the sister of the late Hilda Carreiro and Alice Chace. 

Visitation Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.  Her funeral will be Saturday at 8 a.m. from the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home 462 Main Road, Tiverton, with a 9 a.m. Mass at Holy Ghost Church.  Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.  www.almeida-pocasset.com for on line guest book.
