Everett Medeiros, 83, of Bristol

Posted

Everett Medeiros, age 83, of Hope Street, Bristol, passed from this life on April 21, 2018.

Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Mary and Frank Medeiros. Everett is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores (Lachance), of 63 years.

He was the father of eight children: Debra (Ronald) Medeiros, Susan (Robert) Allen, Michael (Tammy) Medeiros, Paul Medeiros, Karen (Mark) Valcourt, Nancy Thomas, Lori (Raymond) Carreiro, and Lisa (Steven) Lagarto. Also surviving him are 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Everett was also the brother of Edward and Manuel Medeiros, and the late Frank Medeiros, Mary Medeiros, and Lorraine Mattos.

Everett was retired from the R.I. Bridge and Turnpike Authority, and prior to that was a supervisor at Converse Mfg. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and his beloved Yankees (especially when they were playing the Boston Red Sox).

In his earlier years, Everett was a member of various local drum and bugle corps. He also enjoyed playing cards, occasionally visiting Newport Grand, and especially big family gatherings at Christmas and Fourth of July.

In honor of Everett’s wishes, cremation will take place and visitation will be omitted.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice for the great care they provided. Contributions in Everett’s memory can be made to: “Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice,” 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871, and are greatly appreciated.
