Fadista Ana Vinagre at the Zeiterion

Posted

Born in Buarcos, Portugal, Vinagre immigrated to New Bedford with her husband Jose. Both had been members of folkloric dance and music ensembles in Portugal, and, at the insistence of some friends, Ana began to perform the New England circuit of Portuguese restaurants and social clubs singing fado, the traditional folk music from Portugal. Ana has continued to perform at area Portuguese restaurants, community events, festivals, and concerts around the nation.
