Fall Book Sale at Weaver Library

The Friends of the East Providence Public Library will hold a Fall Book Sale on Fri. & Sat., Oct. 12 & 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Thousands of books will be available. Hard and soft cover books are $1, children’s 50¢, pocket-sized paperbacks are 50¢ each or 3 for $1 and CDs, DVDs and audio books are $1. Books are sorted in more than 50 categories and are easily accessible on display cases; novels are in order by author’s last name. On sale are biographies, novels, vintage and books on business, sports, cooking, gardening, history, science, health, art and more, as well as records, sheet music, comics and puzzles. Books are restocked continuously throughout the weekend. Sponsored by Friends of East Providence Public Library. Proceeds benefit programs and concerts at East Providence Public Library. Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
