Vendors will include fiber artists and demonstrators, craft and jewelry makers, local farms, and historic site partners. The Little Rhody Thrummers will demonstrate rug hooking, while Quilters by the Sea and the Rhode Island Spinners’ Guild will feature quilting and fiber spinning. A variety of crafts, authentic 18th century games, and contests will be available to visitors of all ages. The main event will be the shearing of Coggeshall’s herd of Gulf Coast Native Sheep. For entertainment, Ladies of the Rolling Pin will bring a vibrant, high energy morris dance performance. Their “flour power” and rolling rhythm always gets the crowd on their feet. The award-winning duo, Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly, brings traditional American and Celtic folk songs.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
