A former Bristol woman is facing a murder charge after the death of her seven-month-old daughter.

Mariah Ramos, 34, formerly of 52 Opechee Drive, Bristol, is charged with one count of second degree murder along with her boyfriend, Ryan Beeley, 38, of 3 Airway Road, Warwick, the state Attorney General's office announced Thursday. The couple, who had reportedly been living together in the Warwick home, were previously charged with cruelty or neglect of a child.

A Kent County grand jury returned the indictment Wednesday, charging the couple with killing Willow Beeley on Feb. 21 in Warwick. Willow was seven months old at the time. Ms. Ramos had previously been charged with child neglect after she found Willow unresponsive after arriving home around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 21. The baby had been home alone with Mr. Beeley, reports indicate.

Warwick Police Major Brad Connor has police received a call from a third party man, who was in the unit of the duplex house and was responding to the screams for help from Ms. Ramos, the Warwick Beacon reported. Police have not released details of Ms. Ramos' involvement.

Willow was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Shortly after arrival of police, Beeley was transported by Warwick rescue to Kent Hospital for a “medical condition.” After being released from the hospital he was transported to police headquarters where he was charged.

Ms. Ramos pleaded not guilty Thursday and was ordered held without bail pending a court hearing on June 15.
