Frank E. Orr, 77, Westport

Frank E. Orr, 77, of Westport, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the former husband of the late Kathleen (Halloran).

Mr. Orr was born in Westport, son of the late John and Harriet N. (Manchester) Orr, and had been a lifelong resident of the town. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a machinist for G.E. Electric Co. He enjoyed racing pigeons with his father and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, John P. Orr and his wife Kathie of Westport; his two daughters, Diane E. Audette and her fiancé Karl Santos of New Bedford, and Wendy A. Lajoie and her husband Scott of Westport; his brother, Raymond Orr and his wife Aida (Silva) of Westport; sister-in law, Evelyn ( Mello) Orr of Westport; six grandchildren, Shelby and Charlotte Orr, John Gagnon, Jr., Andrew Audette, Danielle Abbaticola and Erica Ponte; two great grandsons, Devin and Dominick Abbaticola; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was the grandfather of the late Chelsea Ponte and  brother of the late John Orr Jr. and Edith Orr.

Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, at 10 a.m.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or to the ASPCA, P.O. Box 20090-6929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
