EAST PROVIDENCE — Winds associated with Tropical Storm Philippe tore through the city overnight, October 30, causing damage and power outages from Rumford to Riverside.

Among those residents affected was Diane Hurd, a third grade teacher at Oldham Elementary School and a homeowner in the Bullocks Point Avenue area. She and her son, Alex, inspected the damage done mid-morning Monday.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
