The annual East Providence High School boys’ basketball holiday tournament, sponsored by the Friends of Townie Athletics organization in the name of the late Harry Mutter, takes place Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 26 and 27, with a pair of games each night.
The North Providence plays Toll Gate in the opener Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. followed by the host Townies vs. Shea.
The winners of the contests meet in the championship game Thursday at 7 p.m. The consolation game between the losers of Wednesday’s games play at 5:15.

The Townies opened their league slate with a 72-59 victory over Hope on December 14. Julian Andrade led the locals with 20 points. Dion Hazard had 18. Mitchel Noresca chipped in 13 and R.J. Pina eight.
E.P. hung tough early with reigning Open State champion Hendricken in Warwick on December 18 before eventually falling to the host Hawks, 74-61. Hazard paced all scores with a game-best 28. Pina added 10. City native Bobby Fiorito was one of three Hawks in doubles figures with 17.
The Townies host Cranston East Friday night, Dec. 21, at 7 o’clock.
