BRISTOL — The East Providence High School cross country teams opened up their respective Metropolitan Division regular season dual meet schedules earlier this week against Mt. Hope over a 3.1-mile course at Colt State Park.

The EPHS boys suffered a 15-50 loss to the host Huskies as Mt. Hope claimed the top five spots in the race led by Nick Januario’s winning time of 18 minutes. Alex Botelho led the Townies running ninth over in 22:15.

The EPHS girls split four results, losing to both Mt. Hope and Bay View but beating the Lincoln School and St. Patrick School. Christy Long was the top Townie, running eighth overall in 23:29.
