Students perform "Fame JR." as annual spring show for 2017


EAST PROVIDENCE — The Riverside Middle School theatre troupe presented “Fame JR.” as its spring production for 2017. Performances took place May 11, 12 and 13 in the RMS auditorium.

The main cast of characters (role:actor) was as follows: Nick Piazza: Austin Crevier; Serena Katz: Elke Jones; Jose (Joe) Vegas: Jacob Lemos; Tyra Jackson: Jade Clark; Carmen Diaz: Priscilla Constant; lris Kelly: Amaya Fiske; Mable Washington: Avieana Rivera; Schlomo Metzenbaum: Michael Bobola; Grace (Lambchops) Lamb: Christa McCormick; Goody King: Mia Faria; Miss Sherman: Kassidy Fournier; Miss Greta Bell: Ali Souza; Miss Myers: Linnea Costa; Miss Sheinkopf: Anna Lee Carolan.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
