The Gilded Age saw the advent of the automobile along with the rise of automobile industries from Detroit to Newport. Three experts in the field will relay stories from the early years of the automobile, including some of its pioneer designers and manufacturers; the beginnings of auto racing and car shows; and the creation of a great American industry, during a Gilded Age Lecture Series event taking place tonight, Thursday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m.
It takes place at Rosecliff Ballroom and via Zoom. The series is hosted by the Preservation Society of Newport County.
In-person tickets are $15 for members, $20 for non-members; Zoom tickets are $10. Advance registration is required.
