Grace M. (Boylan) Donovan, 98, of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, surrounded by the care of her loving and devoted family.

She was born in Providence on Oct. 6, 1919, daughter of the late James and Emma Boylan. Grace was the beloved wife of the late Jerome M. Donovan. They were married for 61 years. She touched so many lives by her kind and gentle ways.

Grace was the loving mother of her five children, Susan Gorbutt (Alan) of Bermuda; Robin Sweet (Albert) of Warren; Mark Donovan (Shirley) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; Maureen Kelly (Neil) of Narragansett; and Tricia Garrahy (Ted) of Wickford.

Grace is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Alexandra Gorbutt; Aaron (Megan), Craig (Meredith), and Micaela Sweet; Matthew, Sydney and Christopher Donovan; Maura (Grant) Wieler and Neil Kelly; Patrick (Briana), Ian (Kelly), and Conor Garraphy.  Her grandchildren were a great source of support and unwavering love. She was also the great-grandmother of Aidan, Nora and Evelyn Sweet.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI for their dedication and compassion for Grace at the end of her journey.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol, R.I. A private burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol.
