PORTSMOUTH — Common Fence Point will host its fourth annual Halloween celebration from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31.

The family-friendly event is free, and everyone in Portsmouth is invited to join in the festivities. The party begins at the newly refurbished CFP Community Hall (933 Anthony Road), with snacks and a bouncy house. 

The headline event is a parade led by costumed members of the Portsmouth High School Band. Dozens of band members, organized by band alumna Lauren McKone, will again be sharing their energy, talent and imagination with the community. The parade will step off from the CFP Hall at 5:30 p.m. and move through nearby parts of the surrounding neighborhood. Everyone is welcome to join the procession, which has grown larger and more festive every year since it was inaugurated in 2013.

Back at the hall, there will be games, popcorn, candy and hot chocolate, as well as a costume contest. Everyone is welcome to stop by for any or all of the celebration. 

As a special treat this year, hall visitors will also be able to enjoy the art allery, which features the work of a different local artist each month.
