Horacio Jose DoRego, 75, of River Street, Bristol, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at home. He was the husband of Maria Ilda (Cordeiro) DoRego.
Born in Santo Antonio, Alem Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao and Maria Isabel (Oiliveira) DoRego. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Dina Vincente and her husband Jose of Bristol, and Nelly Rego of Seekonk, and grandsons Justin Vincente and Ryan Vincent. He was the brother of John Rego, Tony Rego, Jose Maria, Fatima Furtado and Mary Lou Malo. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Mr. DoRego was a machine operator for American Insulated Wire for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the Bristol Sports Club and Amigo da Terceira.
His funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 14, from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Luis Garcia Dutra at St. Elizabeth’s Church. The offertory gifts were presented by Joe Vincente, Dina Vincente and Nelly Rego. Serving as pallbearers were John F. Rego, Michael Rego, Wilson Furtado, Nelson Rego, Benjamin Lima, Luis Silva, Danny Cordeiro and Mike McGinn.
