More than 200 runners competed in the 32nd annual Hangover Classic 5 Miler on Sunday, Jan.1. The runners ranged in age from 8 to 80 and enjoyed seasonably mild conditions on New Years Day.

Race headquarters was at Agave restaurant and the start/finish area was a short walk down the East Bay Bike Path to Poppasquash Road. With the sun shining and temperatures in the low to mid 40’s the field ran on Poppasquash Rd. around Bristol Harbor on into Colt State Park through Coggeshall Farm before returning to finish.

Twenty-one-year-old Ben Fazio of East Greenwich was the overall winner with a time of 25:39. Anne Monagle, 25, of Rumford was the top female finisher in 32:29. Robert Johnson was the top Bristol resident finishing in 20th place with a time of 35:53.

Agave was host to a post-race brunch and trophy ceremony, partial proceeds from the event benefit the Healthy Huskies program at Kickemuit Middle School.
