I want to buy a home. What can I expect and how do I prepare myself?

Posted

Buying a home is one of the most exciting things you will ever do. Home buying can also be an emotional rollercoaster and very personal to each buyer. When your emotions are involved in a purchase, the experience can become very stressful.  Educating yourself on what to expect can help reduce your anxieties, improve your relationship with both your agent and lender, and arm you to deal with the many things that can go wrong:

  • Sellers can be unreasonable and argumentative
  • A home inspection may reveal defects
  • Lenders may reject your loan
  • You could receive a low appraisal
  • Your agent might not communicate well with you
  • The title company could find a cloud on title or unknown lien
  • Your moving company could go bankrupt

Is your stress-level rising just thinking about it?

Never fear! There is help for homebuyers … and it doesn’t cost a penny
