People should avoid taking a walk at Barrington's Nockum Hill near the police department's firing range between Monday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 6.

An email from the police department stated that officers would be at the range practicing between the hours of 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. as part of their "low-lighting qualifications."

The department also sent notices to residents who live near the range. The firing range is located within the Nockum Hill preserve off George Street.
