'Island Time' at Bristol Art Museum

The six featured artists whose artwork is on view express their perspective on living or spending time on the islands. Michael Gaillard’s photography depicts the open fields and ocean vistas of Nantucket, Peter Michael Gish’s oil paintings focus on the craggy coast line of Block island, Teri Melo’s paintings of pebbled beaches reveals the layered elements, Karen Igleharts’s paintings show the use of color to create space and openness, Susan Schultz’s ceramic sculpture explores a collection of objects in an ocean environment and Betsy Bonner Zimmerman’s printmaking of monotypes is inspired by visits to Maine’s Monhegan Island.

WHERE: Bristol Art Museum at Linden Place, 10 Wardwell St., Bristol

WHEN: Through Sept. 6; Thursday to Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.

COST: Nominal admission fee; members admitted free
