A devoted wife and mother, Janet started her family in Pawtucket and Touisset, Mass. and moved to Barrington where she has lived for the past 58 years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed close relationships with extended family, neighbors and friends from her early childhood and young adult years and was active with several clubs and organizations.
Her concern was always for others, and throughout her life she held a strong appreciation for family, friends, her home and the beauty of Rhode Island and Narragansett Bay. The family gives gratitude to Isabel who provided health and home-care assistance over the past 20 years to Janet and her late husband.
Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to the Annual Fund of The Providence Country Day School, 660 Waterman Ave, East Providence, RI 02914 in remembrance of John Richard Lingard, Class of 1970. Please visit smithmason.com for online condolences.
