Jean G. ( Miller) Mello, 62, of Warren, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Donald Mello; they were married for over 43 years.

Jean was born in Providence, a daughter of the late John E. and Margaret ( Farlow) Miller. She was a customer service representative and phone operator for the Tunstall Incorporated Answering Service in Pawtucket and a phone operator for Bank of America.

She had lived in Warren since 1975, coming from East Providence. She was a former parishioner of St. Brendan Church. She loved traveling, and Hawaii was one of her favorite places to visit. She also liked gardening and walking on the beach with her husband and dog. She was a member of the Rhode Island Mineral Hunters.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Nathan Mello of Warren. She was the sister of James Millerm Peter Miller and Patricia Miller. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was the sister of the late John Miller.

Her funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Smith Funeral, Memorial and Cremation Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm.
