Jennie B. Russo, 92, of Bristol

Jennie B. (Bucci) Russo, 92, of Bristol, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at Newport Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Edward A. Russo.

Jennie was born in Cumberland, a daughter of the late James and Filomena (Jannarelli) Bucci.
Mrs. Russo was a secretary for the Rhode Island Veterans Home for over 30 years. She was a Bristol resident or over 70 years after coming from Cumberland.

Jennie was also a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Bristol.

She is survived by her son, James Russo, and his wife, Sandra, of Bristol, and her brother, Ernest Bucci, of Bristol.

She was the grandmother of Carrie Anne Jamison and Christine Martins; also the great-grandmother of eight and the great-great-grandmother of four.

She was the sister of the late Mary Vani, the mother of the late Edward Russo Jr. and the grandmother of the late Kimbley Russo Gendreau.

A private graveside service was held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bristol.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
