Julio Faustino Goncalves, 64, of Tiverton and formerly of Bristol, passed away on Oct. 29, 2018, at home.
Born in Sao Vincente da Beira, Castelo Branco, Portugal, he was the son of the late Estanislau and Eulalia (Silva) Goncalves. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Murphy, and her husband, Bryan, of Chicago, and grandson Abraham Murphy of Chicago. He was the brother of Ana Maria Pilar of Portugal, Manuela Marcelino of Germany and the late Joao Goncalves. He was the uncle of Estanislau Marcelino of Germany, Gloria Marcelino of Germany and Filipe Pilar of Portugal.
Mr. Goncalves was educated in Portugal and employed by the Rhode Island School of Design and TPI.
His funeral services were held Nov. 3 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Marinaldo Batista at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Ashley Medeiros and Alda Vieira. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Tayla Vieira, and the offertory gifts were presented by Fatima Vieira, Stephanie Vieira and Bryan Murphy.
Serving as pallbearers were Joseph Vieira, David Borges, Armando Sousa, Louis Vieira, Chris Medeiros, Jose Anselmo DaPonte Emanuel DaPonte and Natalie Vieira.
