Kreg A. Palko, of Barrington

Posted

Kreg Palko ended his battle with ALS on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, in Providence, Rhode Island, at the age of 52.

Kreg is survived by his parents Barbara and Andrew in Dearborn, Mich.; wife Elizabeth in Barrington; son Kyle in Arlington, Mass.; daughter Gabriella in Breckenridge, Colo.; brother Kevin in Fockelberg, Germany and sister Krysten in Birmingham, Mich.

Kreg was born on April 29, 1965 in Lansing, Mich. to Barbara and Andrew Palko. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1988 with a degree in management. He married Elizabeth, artist and graduate of the College of Charleston, in 1992. He was a distinguished pilot, serving in the US Air Force during Desert Storm and for private enterprise before settling in Rhode Island as a healthcare administrator. Over years, the couple had two wonderful children and Kreg set about teaching them to ski, surf, and everything else that he knew. His children remember him as a strong father who encouraged them to work hard, pursue their goals, and love the outdoors.

Kreg selflessly decided to dedicate his body to science in order to further the research of ALS. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Kreg to either the Rhode Island ALS Association (www.alsari.org) or the ALS Therapy Development Institute (www.als.net/donate). Condolences can be posted to www.kregpalkoALS.com/leave-a-note. The family would like to thank every single caregiver, hospice worker, doctor, nurse, volunteer, friend, neighbor, and family member, who helped Kreg for their endless dedication, support, and love. A celebration of his life will be held in Rhode Island on Oct. 21. Visit NardolilloFH.com for online condolences.
