Senior all-star pitcher Maddie Reis hurled a no-hitter and struck out ten as the Lady Huskies steam-rolled Wheeler 11-0 at Colt State Park in their last home game of the season on Wednesday. Reis lowered her minuscule ERA to .431 and upped her strike out total for the season to 110. The pitcher also provided some offense, clubbing a two-run homer over the left field fence in the fourth inning to make the score 11-0. Reis and the Lady Huskies blanked Wheeler in the top of the fifth ending the game under the 10-run rule.

The Huskies scored scored two runs in the first inning thanks to some shoddy play by Wheeler. Sam Eddy plated Jessica Cerce with an RBI single. And later scored off two Wheeler errors.

The fireworks came in the second inning when the Huskies exploded for five runs. With one out, Lindsay LeFebvre reached first base on an error. Then senior outfielder Jessica Cerce smashed a shot over the fence for a two-run homer and a 4-0 Huskies lead. Shortstop Carissa Rego then hit a double and Eddy reached first base due to another Wheeler error, setting the table for sophomore slugger Brianna Gendreau. With one out and the count 2 and 0, Grendreau blasted a shot over the center field fence for a three-run home run to make the score 7-0. In the third Caitlyn Moniz and Katarina Fiore both crossed home plate due to another costly Wheeler error.

Notes: The win boosted the Lady Huskies to 12-0 in Division III East. The team will play their final regular season game on Monday at Hope High School. The Huskies gained a first round bye heading into the playoffs and will play their first playoff game on Saturday May 28th.
