Barrington fell to 6-4-1 in Division I standings after losing to Burrillville 4-2 on Friday night. The loss dropped the Eagles into sixth place in the division. 

Barrington held a 2-1 lead after two periods and well into the third. The Eagles spotted Burrillville a 1-0 advantage in the first period, but Barrington’s Cameron Hayes knotted the score at 1-1 with a goal at the 4:11 mark of the first period. Ben Labreche tallied the assist on Hayes’s goal. 

In the second period, the Eagles took a 2-1 lead. Connor Hayes netted the goal off an assist from John O’Connell.

The lead lasted late into the third period, but Burrillville tied it up with 3:04 remaining and then snatched a one-goal advantage a minute later. 

The Broncos’ final goal was an empty-netter, after the Eagles pulled Cam Siwik from the goal in an effort to tie the game. Siwik finished the game with 29 saves. 

Overall, Barrington’s record is 8-6-1. They are currently ranked sixth in the division with 14 team points in Division I. Hendricken and Prout are tied atop the division with 24 points each. Hendricken’s record is 12-1-0 while Prout is 11-1-1. 

Burrillville improved to 8-4-2 with the win over the Eagles and is currently in fourth place behind third place LaSalle. Smithfield stands in fifth place ahead of the Eagles. 

Barrington will have an opportunity to get back into the win column when they take the ice against North Kingstown on Wednesday night, Feb. 14 at 8:05 p.m. The game will be played at Boss Arena at the University of Rhode Island. The Eagles host first-place Hendricken on Friday night, Feb. 16 at Portsmouth Abbey at 8:30 p.m.
