Lee A. Sunderland, 78, of Tiverton, husband of Diane (Cote) Sunderland, passed away at home with his wife by his side, Friday, May 25, 2018.

He started employment with Anderson-Little as a part-time stock boy in 1958 and retired 35 years later as President/Chief Executive Officer of Anderson-Little/Richman Brothers (a division of F.W. Woolworth Corporation) now Foot Locker, Inc. 

He was a graduate of Providence Country Day Prep School and University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and served in the Coast Guard. A community volunteer for over 30 years, he was a member of the board of directors of Woolworth for Richman Brothers/Anderson-Little Company and the Clothing Manufacturers Association of America, a Fall River Five Cents Savings Bank Trustee, a member of Charlton Memorial Hospital Board of Advisors and was the Fall River United Way Chairman of the Board.

He was a 50-year member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks and enjoyed traveling, visiting Cape Cod and Florida and especially spending time with family and friends.

Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves three sons, Mark Sunderland and his wife Andrea of Philadelphia, Pa., Lee Alan Sunderland and his wife Wendy of Doylestown, Pa., and Chris Sunderland and his wife Gia of Norton, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Nicolas, Daniel, Sydney, Lyvia, Emery, Ethan, Carly, Lucas and Logan Sunderland; and a brother, Wayne Sunderland and his companion Nancy Cook. He was the son of the late Arthur H. and Anne (Andrew) Sunderland. 

Visitation will be Friday, June 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
