I was shocked to read that Tiverton is considering yet another mega shopping center development. But the most shocking aspect of the story was that the town charged Legacy a mere $2,500 for a 90-day stand-still agreement with a potential  60-day extension, basically taking the property off the market for almost six months. Twenty-five hundred dollars on a potential $8.5 million sale is absurd.

Shades of the Ranger School sale where the broker got more dollars than the town, or the Nonquit property where the council gave the buyer a free extension while ignoring a higher offer.  Are our councillors just stupid or worse?
